Helen Oxenbury in conversation at the Harley Gallery
Join us for a gallery talk in conversation with Helen Oxenbury, the award-winning children’s book illustrator currently exhibiting in the Harley Gallery, and Nicolette Jones, Children’s Book editor for the Sunday Times.
Nicolette and Helen will reflect on Helen’s six-decade career, from her pioneering baby board books to classics like We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and her latest collaboration with Michael Rosen, Oh Dear, Look What I Got!, published by Walker Books.
Following the talk, there will be an opportunity to attend a short Book Signing with Helen Oxenbury. Please note, the book signing is ticketed separately, ensure you have a ticket to both the talk and signing if you would like to attend both events.

A Conversation with Sam Leith and Nicolette Jones
Sam will be in conversation with Nicolette Jones, the Sunday Times Children’s Book Editor, to celebrate the power of books to inspire and console.The Haunted Wood: A History of Childhood Reading. In his history of the children’s literary canon, Sam Leith reveals the magic of childhood reading, from the ancient tales of Aesop, through the Victorian and Edwardian golden age to new classics.

Samuel Plimsoll Service
Commemoration at St Martin’s Church, Cheriton, where Samuel Plimsoll is buried - an annual wreath-laying and lecture inaugurated in 2015 by Nicolette Jones, in honour of a national hero who spent his last years in Folkestone.
When the Wind Blows screening
